SPAGHETTI LASAGNA RECIPE

SPAGHETTI LASAGNA RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups mozarella cheese
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt

DIRECTIONS:

Break pasta into 2-inch pieces. Cook using the package directions; drain well.

Combine ground beef, onion, bell pepper and garlic in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until ground beef is browned, about 8 minutes; drain.

Add spaghetti sauce and oregano to ground beef mixture and mix well.

Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Combine pasta, butter, Parmesan, and salt in a large bowl and mix well.

Spoon pasta mixture into a 13 × 9-inch baking dish. Spoon ground beef mixture over the ricotta. Bake for 30 minutes. Top with mozzarella cheese to your preference (we like a lot). Bake for 15 or until cheese is bubbly and hot.

***If you like you Ricotta Cheese, you can add a layer of it between the pasta and the meat.***

**You can also, mix the meat, sauce and pasta all together and pour it into the dish and top with cheese and bake – my family prefers it this way.

***If you are vegetarian, you can of course prepare it without meat and add eggplant or your fave veggies for Italian meals.
